KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee volleyball head coach Eve Rackham Watt will have a dominant setter/opposite hitter back for the 2027 season. Tennessee announced via social media that Jalyn Stout will return next season. Stout has made a huge impact on the program in her first season after transferring from Coastal Carolina.
The Lady Vols are ranked No. 9 in the nation with a 12-3 record. Across 48 sets played this season, Stout accumulated 146 kills with 110 digs, 31 blocks and 28 assists. The senior from Gainesville, Florida, had a great match in the sweep over LSU Sunday. Stout posted her second double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 digs.
“When you watch her, you see she’s screaming for the ball,” Watt said after the match on what makes her so effective. “She’s super competitive. She’s got great range, and I think there’s such a comfort in that option for Caroline [Kerr] to go back to her, and I think there’s just a ton of confidence that Jalyn has in herself to be able to deliver. And I think a lot of it’s just she’s a really competitive kid, and she just wants to win. Having her as an option in first ball and in transition, she’s just been really efficient. She’s getting a little healthier, which is nice. I thought she had a great night tonight, and she’s kind of showing what she can do.”
Stout and the Lady Vols will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to face the Razorbacks Friday night. First serve is 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SECN+.
