KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Wednesday, Tennessee women’s basketball released its full 2026-27 schedule with tip times and television designations. Kim Caldwell enters her third season as head coach with a new-look roster.
The schedule features 32 regular-season games and one exhibition. The good news for those who only watch linear television is 18 of the 32 regular-season games will be broadcast, with eight on SEC Network, five on ESPN, three on ESPN2, one on FOX and one on ESPNU. The Lady Vols will begin with an exhibition against Florida A&M on Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. ET at Food City Center, streamed on SECN+. The regular season opens Nov. 2 when Tennessee hosts Duquesne at 6:30 p.m. ET on SECN+.
The Lady Vols will host the defending national champion UCLA Bruins on Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m. ET and will travel to Hartford, Connecticut, on Dec. 12 to play the UConn Huskies. Caldwell is eager to show fans what this team brings to the floor.
“I hope that people take away how hard they play and how well they play together, and I think that that is really important,” Caldwell told me on Sept. 25. “We had a meeting yesterday, talking about, hey, hard days are coming. We’ve loved life. I’ve loved being around them. We laugh every single day we see each other. It’s been a very positive environment, but it’s going to get harder as we start playing games. So really talking about who you’re gonna be in those moments. And if the season started today, I think our fan base would love how hard we play and how well we play together.”
Newcomer Rylie Theuerkauf, transfer from Georgia, brings a great shot and confident energy. She and her teammates have formed a tight chemistry already, and believes that will show on the court.
“I would say our energy,” she said on Sept. 25. “I think we’re a lot of fun to watch. I think we’re a lot of fun. Everybody wants to play with us. You don’t want to play against us, and I think the fans are going to notice that. And also our family. Everybody’s cheering for one another. Everyone’s together at all times. You’ll just see a really close team, and I think that’ll be different from last year.”
