Tennessee softball and head coach Karen Weekly just added their fourth commit for the class of 2028. Right-handed pitcher Reagan Eldred from Spring, Texas, announced Sunday via social media. Eldred is a five-star player from Klein Oak High School and is ranked No. 14 nationally in Softball America’s class of 2028 rankings.
“I am SO excited to announce that I have verbally committed to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee!” Eldred said via social media.
“This journey has been filled with so many lessons, challenges, and memories that have helped lead me to this moment. I want to give all the glory to God for opening doors, giving me strength when things were hard, and leading me exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
Eldred plays for the Texas Blaze United 18u travel team, where she’s competed against the best players across the country. According to Softball America’s scouting report, Eldred can reach the upper 60s and can work east/west and up in the zone. She shows an offspeed to keep hitters off balance. She is one of the high-level projectable prospects in the circle in the class.
Eldred joins Kenzie White, Nevaeh Wilson and Sophia Galindo in the class and is the first pitcher to commit for Tennessee. She could be one of the next to flourish under associate head coach Megan Rhodes Smith’s direction.
